    About our Speaker Stephanie Weier:

    Stephanie Weier is an entrepreneur, filmmaker and author. In 2001, she founded The Domain Group, an entertainment industry research, branding and placement company. It has executed more than 5,000 product placement and branding deals since opening its Los Angeles doors.

    Her team has worked on major feature films including Terminator 2, Crazy Stupid Love, That Awkward Moment and The Social Network. Weier holds a degree in intellectual property and Cyberlaw from Concord Law University, a master’s degree from the University of Tennessee in Education and a bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing with a film minor. In 2014, she published her debut book on entrepreneurship, Business Ninjas.

    In creating Brandwood Global (BwG), Weier believes her technology will change the paradigm of Hollywood’s branding and placement business. It will automate the way brand agents and studios traditionally interact by placing those relationships and negotiations on the web, resulting in a seamless marketplace that will level the playing field for buyers and sellers.

    Weier is an active member of Women in Film, Women of L.A. Venture Association and Entertainment Marketing Resource Association.

    Matthew Moran is the founder and president of Pulse Infomatics, Inc., a Los Angeles-based consulting company focused on information technology, custom application development, and online presence/digital marketing.

    About our Speaker Steven Cole

    Lt-Col Steven Cole is the Deputy Director of the US Army film and television liaison office in Los Angeles, and has worked on Hollywood blockbusters such as Fury, Man of Steel and Godzilla. 

    Cole occupies a unique spot at the intersection of two major American institutions: the military and the movies. The 42-year-old career soldier is the Deputy Director of the US Army film and television liaison office in Los Angeles. In other words, whenever a Hollywood studio wants to check the medal configuration on a general's uniform, or to borrow a tank from the country's largest military service, Lt-Col Cole is who they call. 

    The function of the film liaison office is to manage the publicity that the movies offer the military, and also to ensure, where possible, that the Army is portrayed accurately on screen. "The reason we have an office in LA is so that people can learn a little about the Army that their taxpayer dollars support," Cole says. "Not everybody is reading world news, but they will go and see Godzilla."

    Dan Sterkel turned Nissan of Valencia from one of the “most disliked local dealerships” to one of the “most loved”. With Sterkel’s guidance, the dealership has given back to Hart High School District through their annual car giveaway where entrance to the giveaway is based on student attendance, GPA and discipline. Since opening up in 2010, Nissan of Valencia has donated more than $200,000 in cash, scholarships and cars to the community. Sterkel is a 3rd generation car salesman and has lived in Santa Clarita since 1983. He has been the Executive Manager at Nissan of Valencia since October of 2010. He has been voted one of Santa Clarita’s “Top 51 Most Influential People” in 2013 and 2014. He is a proud Board Member of the Michael Hoefflin Foundation and is an Advisory Board Member of Circle of Hope.
